The Guest Post Lead Up
Eeeek! I’m so excited to announce that today’s blog feature is also our very first GUEST POST. Yes, I want to feature YOUR favorite outlets too! My big, lofty, starry-eyed dream for this resource is to make it a one stop shop for what you can expect when you visit an outlet near you. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you want to come onto the blog and shout your incredible deals from this virtual rooftop. I can’t make that happen without you!
It feels fitting that the very first guest blog post is also coming from my Facebook group’s top contributor, Jennifer. Jennifer has been a highly engaged community member, highlighting SEVEN outlets in North and South Carolina. If you haven’t had a chance to take a look at her thoughtful write ups, you can find them in the Facebook group here, here, here, here, here and here. She also loves outlets as much as me so it’s always fun chatting. Her first feature post takes place over at Furnitureland South Outlet in Jamestown, NC but be on the lookout for her upcoming features over at Transit Damaged Furniture and Lexington Home Brands Factory Outlet too. Thank you, Jennifer, for being an invaluable member of this amazing community!
So, without further ado, let’s welcome Jennifer to the blog!
Furnitureland South Outlet Details
Hi everyone! Many people expressed interest in seeing outlets featuring market samples in the High Point/Thomasville, NC area, so I figured it was time to stop by and take some photos of the massive amounts of furniture available! I literally could spend days exploring it all. So if you visit, prepare to allocate a lot of time if you want to fully see what these places have to offer.
First stop was Furnitureland South Outlet in Jamestown, NC, right near High Point . It is located behind the main two buildings of Furnitureland and is an equally massive building at over 300,000 square feet. When you walk in you will be greeted by an associate who will quickly explain the process and hand you his or her business card. You can then call the associate if you have any questions or want to make a purchase.
Each price tag will have a QR code. Be sure to scan the code to see that day’s current price. Typically, the price displayed on the tag is current, but I have scanned and found it lower on a few items. So don’t forget to check!
I started on the second floor and worked my way down to the basement. The top floor, dubbed the Bargain Attic, is dedicated to mostly mismatched pieces that are selling for an even deeper discount. While some of the furniture is on trend, you will find plenty of pieces that look like they’ve been sitting around for decades in my opinion. You truly don’t know what you’ll find up there!
The main floor is set up more showroom style and includes primarily living room and bedroom furniture. There are plenty of great pieces at really reasonable prices. You will see brand names you may be familiar with, including Four Hands, A.R.T. Furniture, Caracole, Marge Carson and many more!
One of the craziest finds of the day was an enormous Ralph Lauren china cabinet. I cannot begin to explain the scale of this piece of furniture. The original retail value was over $88,000!! It was on sale for only $16,000. It would never fit in my home, nor is it in my budget, but that’s an amazing deal in my opinion for someone out there.
The bottom floor includes two designer showrooms for Theodore Alexander and Baker Furniture. It also has an area for outdoor furniture, lighting and dining. Like I mentioned at the beginning, it really takes a lot of time to see everything. I only had about an hour and a half, so I wasn’t able to finish the entire building. I’ll just have to stop by again soon!
