Want to find a list of ALL outlets near you?
Before I jump into information specific to Restoration Hardware Outlet shopping, I suggest checking out one of my most popular posts on strategies for making the most of your outlet visit. There are over 30 tips and tricks that I have shared (as well as some Facebook group member and Instagram follower recommendations) on how to score the very best deals- like timing your visit on the day their inventory gets delivered and following your favorite outlets on social media to get real time inventory updates.
THIS is the outlet that ignited my love for outlet shopping. I have had so much success getting items from this the Crate and Barrel Furniture Clearance Center in Tracy, CA for around 80% off. My best finds have been an 8×10 rug, a storage coffee table, a media console, and a couch all for $200-$250 per item. I was seconds away from purchasing both the 8×10 rug and a queen sleeper sofa for retail price, but decided to call and see if they had them. They did! I saved a boatload of money purchasing these items from the outlet. They have always been so helpful in searching their database to see if an item is in stock- just have the SKU ready!
Crate and Barrel Outlet Locations
Because outlets sometimes close permanently, and I am not always privy to that information right away, I intentionally leave off exact outlet location addresses. If you drove all the way over based on my information, I would feel terrible! For this reason, I recommend google searching the outlet name plus the city listed below to find the most accurate and up-to-date information.
- California: Carlsbad, Livermore, Tracy
- Illinois: Naperville
- Maine: Kittery
- New Jersey: Jackson Township
- North Carolina: Asheville
- Pennsylvania: Lancaster
- South Carolina: Gaffney
- Texas: Dallas
- Virginia: Alexandria
Crate and Barrel Outlet Pricing Structure
I’ve said it about a hundred times before, but the Crate and Barrel Outlet pricing structure is, hands down, my favorite. These are the outlets you go to when you want to get dirt cheap furniture. I’ve gotten 4 big outlet purchases for 80-90% off (and in nearly perfect condition).
The items come in and are marked at a minimum of 30% off. I’ve seen many items start for as much as 70% off to start, but that’s typically on pieces that have more damage. An additional 10% off mark down will occur weekly until the item is purchased OR it reaches 80% off – their discount “max.” Why the quotations, you ask? I have seen plenty of items with this red FINAL SALE slash through it. In the photo below, you can see that item made it to over 90% off.
One caveat about these items though, is that they are usually severely damaged. Those pieces, when viewed creatively, can be an amazing way to purchase some high quality items for a literal fraction of the price. For example, here is the cabinet from the photo above.
You see, the cabinet on the lower left is cracked. At first glance, this seems beyond repair. However, upon closer inspection, I don’t see why someone couldn’t wood glue and clamp this back together, fill any visible divots, and paint the whole thing a new color OR color match the paint. Another option is to reach out to customer service online and see if they can send you the paint match.
Knowing the date an item was marked down is crucial for follow up monitoring, so make sure to grab a photo! I often wait another week or two to see if I can get the item for a lower price. But be warned, you might miss out on it if someone swoops in to buy it. Check out more than 30 outlet tips here.
While Crate and Barrel Outlets typically do not have an in-house delivery company, they do often have some third party recommendations. Head straight for the register or keep an eye out for possible signs scattered throughout the store for additional information. Pictured below are the various companies that have been utilized by clients in the Bay Area in California. I have heard glowing reviews about ProMovers from various group members and followers.
